Stephen Smith

Stevie has over 24 years experience specialising in tax including working for a Big 4 firm in Glasgow and then more recently, locally, here in the Borders.  He is very commercially aware and provides clear, practical advice to his clients on a wide range of subjects.  His philosophy is that the tax tail should not wag the dog although minimising the tax bill on transactions is often vital to a successful completion.   Stevie has extensive experience in dealing with HM Revenue & Customs at all levels.  He is a voracious reader with particular interest in history, politics and sport.  He enjoys an intellectual challenge and never more so than with the Inland Revenue.  He always enjoys reminding them that they are civil servants there to serve us!
