Andy Purves

Andy is the founder and senior member of the firm.  He was probably always destined to run his own business having come from a family history of owner managed businesses going back to 1879.  Over the years he has gained considerable exposure to a very wide range of business experiences having started his own practice, bought over another one and been part of the demerger of his own substantial family business. He was involved in the founding of Business Angel syndicate Tricapital Ltd and as well as being an active investor himself has been guiding both investors and companies since its inception in 2004, he currently holds the position of Company Secretary. For some clients he is regularly involved at board and management meetings helping devise strategy and development as well as focusing on the financials. With all this experience you could say corporate finance is his forte.

Having acted for and supported companies across a broad range of sectors he knows the challenges of establishing, running and growing small and medium sized businesses. This in-depth commercial and market knowledge  means Andy can add value to a wide variety of companies be it through business planning, fund raising assistance or consultancy work.

Andy is a director in Adam Purves Galashiels Ltd (APGL), a well established family business with multiple and diverse interests. His personal involvement here enables him to offer practical and technical experience to clients not least family owned businesses facing their own unique issues.
